HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Heyo! My name is McCartha Evita, but I also go by Mac. I am an aspiring writer who has kept up a blog on and off since around 2017. If you're from my last blog over at the old The Invisible Queer, you are probably already familiar with me and what I like, but if you are new, welcome!
I am a lover of music, film, occasionally television, musicals and writing. I write more than I read and I have been posting my fictional writing online since 2013. I have 2 defunct Wattpad accounts - which you can probably still find but I won't help with that - and an Archive of Our Own profile where I currently post fanfiction. My ultimate goal is to finally finish an original story I've been working on since high school and get it published.
The title "The Invisible Queer" is my Tumblr URL and it was inspired by my love for the band, Queen because my favorite song by them is "The Invisible Man". I love most musical genres, but I have a fondness for classic rock. I also have a soft spot for the Jonas Brothers who started as a pop-punk band but are now just pop. I've been a fan since 2006 when I was nine years old. My love for them is mostly sentimental. Yes, I enjoy their music, but I can admit it has become pop "garbage". Most of their music is joyful which helps a lot.
I deal with mental illness. I believe the official diagnoses is major depressive with an anxiety disorder. I mention this because I'd like to be open about it as it will sometimes show up in my writing being that it's something I deal with every day. A lot of my coping for my depression is writing and listening to music. Hence why I started blogging in the first place.
The reason I am moving blogs is because the old one is a little messy and I wanted a fresh new start since I have a schedule that I started maintaining the last few years.
What you can expect on this blog is my ramblings. What am I rambling about? Just about anything, honestly. I did create a schedule that would mean two to three posts a week.
On Mondays, the posts will be about random historical figures or events. On my old blog, I called them "That Time..." posts. They started about "weird" stories from history. I want to continue doing history posts because I do enjoy researching and learning something new or getting to write about a subject I already know about. I don't think I will carry "That Time..." over
Wednesdays have always been miscellaneous. I sometimes write about songs or albums I love which I call "Kinda Reviews" and those would be posted on Wednesdays. I sometimes write comparing and contrasting two related pieces of media. Another type of posts that may be posted in the middle of the week are my ranking posts. I rank my favorite musical artists, albums, musicals, singers, films, shows, etc. Sometimes if there is an important announcement or housekeeping, or any personal posts, they will be posted on Wednesdays. Basically, I'd like to leave Wednesdays open for anything. There is a chance, I might skip a Wednesday, so they may be irregular.
Fangirl Fridays, as I call it are reserved for rambling posts about whatever I am hyper fixated with at any given moment. I could be losing it over a celebrity I am crushing on or admire, a film, TV show, or musical I really enjoyed. Anything can be subject to a Fangirl Friday.
All posts will be posted at 1pm and if there isn't a post up that day I am most likely not posting that day.
I do hope 2026 is better than 2025. Here's to year 29 for me!
